Make new friends this July with Fellow Humans x instax™
Fancy an evening that's more about people than your phone? We've teamed up with Fellow Humans to run community events throughout the year, and the first series kicks off this July. Taking place across Manchester, London and Edinburgh, these candlelit nights are your chance to meet a room full of new faces and get hands-on with the brand-new instax mini 13™ instant camera, so you can try it for yourself before you buy. Each night runs 7–9pm, and you're welcome to come on your own. It's calm and creative, with no pressure to arrive with a mate in tow. If your group chats have started to feel like the only place you see people, these nights are a gentle nudge back into the room.
What you'll get up to
Once you're in, you'll:
- Paint your own table lamp to take home, all by soft candlelight
- Get matched with people you'll actually click with, thanks to Fellow Humans' relationship science
- Sip on Dalston's soft drinks while you settle into the room
- Capture the good bits on the instax mini 13™ instant camera, so everyone heads off with a print in hand
The room's relaxed and the pressure's off, so getting chatting with someone new feels easy, with no forced icebreakers or scripts to work through.
Who are Fellow Humans?
You might be wondering, who are Fellow Humans? They're a community built on a simple idea: making real friends as an adult is harder than it should be. Their whole thing is helping grown-ups find their people in real life, minus the apps and the endless small talk. Founder Jared Keir started running small, welcoming get-togethers after seeing how many people wanted deeper connections but had nowhere easy to find them. Every night is designed so nobody feels like the odd one out, which is exactly why they pair so well with instax™.
The camera in your hands
The instax mini 13™ is the easy part. Switch on the self-timer, pick a 2-second or a 10-second option, prop the camera somewhere stable, then hop into the frame so nobody's stuck behind the lens. A print comes out on its own, ready to hand straight to the person you just met. Giving your prints away is the whole spirit of instax™ , the thing that turns a first hello into something someone carries home. Loaded with instax™ mini film (sold separately), the mini 13 makes that easy, turning a first hello into something someone carries home. More often than not, that's how you make a new friend.
