How to play festive face to face:
- Snap those close-ups: Ask each friend to leave the room and take an extreme close-up pic of a facial feature (eyeball, ear, mouth etc.) before re-entering and placing it face down on a pile.
- Shuffle and reveal: Once everyone has contributed, shuffle the photos thoroughly, keeping the pile photo-side down. Add to the centre of the table.
- 10-second guessing: Ask each person to draw a photo from the pile and reveal it to the group for 10 seconds (any longer, and it can make the game too easy). This is the bit where you all need to guess.
- Self score: After a group deliberation, ask each player to write down their guess. You’ll mark the answers at the end.
- The winner takes all: Continue playing until you’ve covered all the photos, then ask your friends to reveal which one was theirs. Each player gets a point for a correct guess, and two points for every person they manage to fool into thinking it wasn’t their photo. The person with the most points at the end wins bragging rights (and, if you’re feeling generous, a prize).
